David Schisgall has been producing and directing non-fiction films for the past fifteen years, having begun his career working for Errol Morris. In 2000 Schisgall directed his first feature documentary, The Lifestyle: Group Sex in the Suburbs. In 2005 he was honored with the Edward R Murrow award for Best News Documentary of 2004 for his program True Life: I’m in Iraq. It was followed by True Life: I Live In The Terror Zone. In 2006, he developed the radio show This American Life into a television series for Showtime series, which won the Emmy for Best Nonfiction Series.
