Starring Melvin Poupaud as an egocentric, fastliving young photographer who discovers that his days are dramatically numbered, Ozon’s drama is a tender but stingingly contemporary take on the subject of death. As his grandmother, Moreau is an elegant, sharpwitted foil to the young protagonist; only as the TIME TO DIE end nears does her irreverent wisdom on the subject of life and death truly register.
