With charm and endearing exuberance, Pageant follows five male contestants competing in the Miss Gay America female impersonation contest. From choosing sparkly outfits to rehearsing amazingly complex dance routines (and one strange ventriloquist’s dummy act), the film offers an intriguing insight into the lives of the participants. With no surgical enhancements below the neck permitted, these men are truly dedicated to the art of illusion.

David has never felt at home in his smalltown in the countryside. The locals in his rural home refuse to accept him. As a 15 year old gay boy he's always been shunned, bullied and rejected. But now David plans to show everyone in the village that he's proud of who he is. For over a hundred years his smalltown hold a annual festival. This year David plans to be the first ever gay male carnival queen. Much to the locals dismay David will parade through the town in his dress, high heels and hairpiece as the queen of the village.
