The always challenging and provocative life and work of artist Chris Burden.

Burden has always been one to push boundaries. While still a student in Southern California he engaged in often stomach- churning art performances – he had himself shot, electrocuted and even crucified on the back of a VW Beetle – before later reinventing himself as the creator of astonishing sculptures and installations. The film blends interviews, studio footage and still powerful 1970s performances. A compelling portrait of one the most intriguing artists of his generation. [PG]
