Our first round-up of the best contemporary British animation.

Animation continues to startle and innovate, as this first collection of exemplary UK animation demonstrates. Our first installation is loosely themed around 'life cycles', with many shorts exploring animation's unique ability to interpret and bend time to examine key moments of life experience. Amongst the premieres presented are a eulogy to puppets by BAFTA-winner Ainslie Henderson, and a bizarre invasion of Edinburgh in Owen Rixon's highly anticipated Toonocalypse.
