The most famous work of McGrath's 7:84 Scotland Theatre Company, which created theatre about and for a working-class audience. The name of the company referred to a statistic published in the Economist that 84% of Britain's wealth was in the hands of 7% of the people. The play relates the history of Scotland from the Highland clearances to the effects of the development of North Sea oilfields. [PG]
