Charly Hübner, Christiane Paul, Paraschiva Dragus, Emilia Pieske, Clara Lago / Fiction / German
The pressures of modern life can make even the tightest family fall apart. How can we keep things together when the world makes us compete within our own families? The troubles faced by Konrad and Christine as they try to juggle their careers whilst raising kids and keeping their own relationship afloat seem all too real. The touching performances, with especially good turns from the child actors, make this a moving and compelling family drama highlighting our compulsion to fulfil the promise of modern life. [U]
#1/ Monday 9 June, 2014 / 14:52 GMTWill the screening be subtitled, please, or only in German? Thanks
#2/ Thursday 12 June, 2014 / 17:31 GMTHi Leslely - there will be English subtitles.
#3 / Wednesday 25 June, 2014 / 10:14 GMTA darkly funny film on the realities of 21st century parenting, with characters you'll recognise. And no easy answers. We were a quiet audience in the Q & A, but for me it was because I was still processing the film, so much that resonated. And well-balanced between different points of view.
