Documentary / Farsi
Four Iranian clerics against one film director in a fight that's full of surprises.
Iranian director Mehran Tamadon, a dedicated advocate of secular society, managed to convince four strong supporters of the Iranian theocratic regime to spend a few days in his family's country house and discuss their views. The unusual experiment becomes a fierce and sometimes very funny debate on the hottest topics of contemporary Iranian society. Even though no one changes sides, the result is both an ironic ode to pluralism and a rich and inventive look at present-day Iran. [PG]
