John Torres

John Torres is a Manila-based writer, musician, filmmaker who has made around 20 shorts and four features. His Todo Todo Teros won the Dragons & Tigers Award in Vancouver and the NETPAC / FIPRESCI prizes in Singapore in 2006. His second feature, Years When I Was A Child Outside, was screened as a three-channel projection at the Berlinale's Forum Expanded. He is working on his band's first album, to be released later this year.

    It was nonlinear, abstract, esoteric and bewildering. Soundtrack voices didn't match voices on screen, subtitles when no *person* was speaking, no story but spoke on a subconscious level. Did i like it? No idea!
