Mania Akbari

Mania Akbari was born in 1974 in Tehran, Iran. Following a painter, Akbari, her son Amin Maher and her sister Roya Akbari appeared in Abbas Kiarostami's Ten (2002), which was screened in competition at the Cannes Film Festival. Akbari then co-directed the documentary film Crystal (2003). In 2004 she wrote, acted in and directed her first feature film, 20 Fingers, which won Best Film in Venice Film Festival's Digital Cinema section. In 2010, she made a documentary about the execution of minor in Iran, titled 30 Minutes to 6am. Her next feature film One-Two-One (2011), was also was included in numerous film festivals.
