André Gatti, Carlos Reichenbach, Estopinha / Fiction / Portuguese

A recently-divorced man moves back in with his grumpy father, who lives an isolated existence in a flat filled with relics of a long life. Father and son tentatively resume their long-interrupted relationship, haunted by the absence of the father’s other son, who has mysteriously disappeared. Personal memories interweave with memories of the Brazilian dictatorship of the 1970s in this densely atmospheric and funny debut feature.
