Virginia Gilbert's debut short film, Hesitation (2007), won numerous awards internationally and was nominated for a BAFTA. She went on to write and direct critically-acclaimed documentaries for Irish TV, whilst developing feature projects, including the Brit-listed Now, Love, with Juliet Stevenson, Sinead Cusack and Gerard McSorley, and Helen, with Brenda Fricker and Rufus Sewell. She was named as a 'Star of Tomorrow' by Screen International.
