Tokyo Drifter (Tokyo dorifuta)

Singer-songwriter-guitarist Kenta Maeno wanders alone at night around Tokyo, singing his songs before indifferent passers-by. Deliberately lo-tech, Tokyo Drifter is at once a conceptual concert film, an allegory of the solitude of the artist, and a document of the visual experience of Tokyo shortly after the March 11, 2011, disaster, when efforts to reduce power consumption resulted in a drastic toning-down of the usual brightly lit spectacle of Tokyo at night.
