Documentary / English, Farsi, German

Green is the colour of hope. Green is the colour of Islam.

It’s the 2009 Islamic Presidential Elections and, contrary to expectations, conservative Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was re-confirmed in office. Amidst accusations of vote-rigging a wave of protest demonstrations took place only to be squashed by brutal attacks by government militia. A collage of interviews, animated reconstruction and social media document the events and defiant stories of people caught up in the violent revolution. Supported by ECA & University of Edinburgh Animating Realities Conference and Take One Action
