British adventure comedy based on comic short stories The Exploits of Brigadier Gerard by Arthur Conan Doyle.

Spain during Napoleon's Peninsula Campaign and dim-witted lothario Brigadier Gerard is given a mission to deliver a message across enemy territory. Battling against his nerves, an army and the amorous sights of the Countess of Morales the Brigadier haplessly attempts to complete his assignment. This film was programmed by Alan Warner, one of EIFF 2011’s guest curators.
