Cityscapes
Where the streets have no name …
A journey through the cities of London, New York, Prague, Bombay and Vienna. The films in this varied programme explore the emotional, psychological, social, political and formal aspects of the city experience and its multifaceted role in contemporary capitalist society and economic collapse. Moments of frenetic activity are contrasted with quiet contemplation, and surveillance aesthetics with sinister overtones sit alongside surreal and unsettling exposés of urban alienation and commodity culture.
