Animated Realities
Reality documented through animation.
In association with Edinburgh College of Art and the University of Edinburgh’s Animating Realities, a two-day conference exploring the increasingly popular form of animated documentary. From the thoughts of a child of a holocaust survivor; a tender memoir of the death of a parent; an overwhelming account of Argentinian grandmothers searching for their lost grandchildren, to the delightful memory of a mother’s fur coat, a demonstration of American architecture and an insight into Arabic culture, EIFF present seven short films that use the genre brilliantly to varying degrees and effect.
