Angele et Tony
Clotilde Hesme, Grégory Gadebois, Evelyne Didi, Jérôme Huguet, Antoine Couleau, Patrick Descamps, Lola Dueñas
A touching portrayal of love against the odds.
First time director Alix Delaporte displays real skill in this depiction of unconventional love set against the backdrop of a small fishing village in Normandy. Angele and Tony are not an obvious romantic couple; theirs will never be one of the great love stories. Yet anchored by two refreshingly naturalistic performances and a cleverly constructed narrative, this gently paced drama leads to a surprisingly heartwarming and strangely satisfying conclusion.
