Please note that, due to unforeseen circumstances, the screening time for this film has changed from those advertised in the EIFF Brochure. The Cloud Capped Star will now screen at 13:30 on Thursday 18 June.

This complex masterpiece stars Supriya Choudhury as a sister who attempts to hold together a family that is disintegrating on the edge of Calcutta. You can almost smell the forest - and feel the disappointment of erratic, drunken movie genius Ritwik Ghatak at what he called the “deceived age” in which he lived.
