  • 60 mins

The influential producer and policy-maker sets us straight on the future of film and media consumption.

The Oscar®-winning producer of Chariots of Fire, The Killing Fields and Local Hero, Lord David Puttnam is also Chancellor of the Open University, Chair of Futurelab and President of the Film Distributors' Association. His keynote speech for EIFF will examine the opportunities and challenges for film and the creative industries in the transition to a digital world. Drawing on themes raised by the Government's new Digital Britain report, his subjects will include the development of high-speed broadband, the digitisation of UK cinemas, and the need for media literacy in a digital age.
