Powell and Pressburger’s ravishing classic has undergone a painstaking restoration over 18 months, made possible by Martin Scorsese’s Film Foundation, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and the UCLA Film and Television Archive, in collaboration with ITV Global Entertainment and the British Film Institute. Every stage of the process has been supervised by Bob Gitt of UCLA and approved by Powell’s widow Thelma Schoonmaker-Powell and Martin Scorsese.
