Time to Die
Danuta Szaflarska, Krzysztof Globisz, Patrycja Szewczyk
She won't go gentle into that good night.
This sharply witty chamber piece is a nearmonologue for its sensational lead Danuta Szaflarska, who at 92 has a 60–year history in Polish film. She plays Aniela, a spiky, intelligent woman whose advanced age doesn't deter her from taking up cudgels against pushy property developers … or overweight little girls. Beautifully shot in black and white, this film also features pawsdown the best canine performance of the year.
