Géla Babluani, Témur Babluani
Géla Babluani was born in Tbilisi, Georgia. His father Témur sought to save his children from violence by sending them to study in Paris. Géla’s first feature film 13 (Tzameti) won the Lion of the Future Award at the 2005 Venice Film Festival and the Grand Prix at Sundance in January 2006. The Legacy is his second feature.
Témur Babluani was born in 1948 and made his first feature film, Migration of Sparrows, in 1980 which won the Director’s Prize at Kiev Film Festival, and Best Actor and Best Editing Prizes at Moscow Film Festival. In 2000, he directed, in collaboration with the EU, a documentary series called Silk Road.
