Lost & Sound: from the Collection of Mark Newgarden

  • 120 mins

Collective Gallery presents The Comic Book Project.

Hosted by Simon Munnery. A unique screening event, with selections from cult NY cartoonist Mark Newgarden's eclectic collection of lost footage, found footage, silent animation and toy films. The programme includes Fresh Lobster, Spanuth's Trained Baby Elephant and Chip the Wooden Man in The Magic Wand, along with live accompaniments devised and performed by Suzanne Andrade, Discoteca Flaming Star, Jenny Hogarth, Jason Nelson and Kevin Reid. This is the second in a unique programme of events produced by the Collective Gallery in association with the Edinburgh International Book Festival (www.edbookfest.co.uk), the Traverse Theatre (www.traverse.co.uk) and EIFF; a project that aims to explore the relationship between visual and performative art practices.
