Current TV Event
Take your short and shove it... Democratisation and new distribution platforms for short film.
Please note, this screening CANNOT be bought online, please call 0131 623 8030 or go to Filmhouse to get your tickets in person.
Current TV, the radically innovative television network created by, for and with young adults, presents this exciting and interactive panel discussion and screening event, offering everything you need to know about the future of self-distributing short film. With the distribution landscape changing daily, it's no longer sufficient for filmmakers simply to complete their projects and submit to the 'old' channels. The hunger for content from user-generated websites and new broadband channels has opened up a world of opportunities to have your voice heard. This panel sheds some light on this new media landscape, and offers dozens of practical tricks and tips. Panellists include Current TV, Shooting People, FourDocs, BBC Film Network and the London Short Film Festival.
The panel will be followed by an afternoon of networking, pitching and commissioning with Current TV at the Point Hotel Penthouse - drop in between 1pm and 6pm.
Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday 27 May.
Filmhouse Members can buy tickets from 12 noon on Wednesday 25 May.
