EIFF - Get Connected!

EIFF might be a whole two weeks away but that doesn’t mean you have to wait until then to get involved.

First things first, you can pick up a brochure at Filmhouse or one of the many other venues throughout Edinburgh and start planning your time at the Festival. Or why not simply download an interactive version of our brochure from the EIFF website and browse our exciting new programme from the comfort of your home? Either way, rummaging through this year’s huge line-up of premieres, special events and retrospectives is bound to keep you busy, so best get started now.

Now is also the perfect time to become an EIFF Web Member. Not only is it free to register, but this year we have introduced loads of new features to help you get connected with EIFF 2013.
As a Web Member you are able to create your own programme Pathway based on the films that interest you. What’s more, you can share your personalised Pathway with others and invite them to become part of your Festival. This is a great way to make sure that you and your friends stay connected and share the EIFF experience through your similar tastes in film.

Also exclusive to Web Members is the latest feature of the EIFF website, Film Fest Miles. This allows filmgoers to collect miles for the films that they see during the Festival with each film being allocated a certain number of miles based on its country of origin. The further the country, the more miles you gain. Keep track of your progress through the live Leader Board which will be featured on the Web Members section of the EIFF site. The top two travellers who have racked up the most miles by the end of the Festival will each receive a return flight for two to anywhere in Europe courtesy of our friends at easyJet*. There will also be alternative prizes allocated to various positions across the Leader Board so make sure you remember to register those miles for a chance to win.

Another exciting addition to this year’s Festival is our brand new EIFF app. That’s right, now you can share your thoughts on our programme across social media and explore the Festival from your fingertips by browsing our programme, viewing film trailers, accessing news and other information on iPhone and Android devices. Our app is free to download and available now.

Once you’ve downloaded our app, why not use it to check out our official 2013 Preview Reel? This can also be seen on our popular EIFFtv channel on YouTube where you will find exclusive interviews with special guests of the Festival past and present including the likes of Sean Connery, Kings of Leon, Terence Davies and more. There is also plenty of behind the scene footage from our red carpet events.

Finally, keep up to date with what’s happening in the lead up to the Festival by liking us on Facebook and following us on Twitter @edfilmfest and Tumblr. By connecting with EIFF, you will be the first to find out the latest news and information, plus you will be able to take part in loads of special competitions. You can also join us on Flickr where you will be able to view images from past Festivals along with plenty of current photos from behind the scenes at this year’s Festival.
