Festival Team Blog: EIFF 2013 is a Go!

The programme is wrapped, the brochure has been printed and shipped, our t-shirts have arrived and we’re all prepped and ready for another programme launch!

This is the moment that the 67th Edinburgh International Film Festival becomes a reality.

After a year of hard work and more deadlines than you can shake a lanyard at, the time has come to reveal the Festival programme!

The Filmhouse is abuzz this morning as the press grab their first glimpse of the programme, packed as it is with 146 feature films from 53 countries, including new strands, 2 country focuses, and 2 exciting retrospectives.

We're also looking forward to this year's great Galas, including our Opening Night Gala: the European Premiere of Breathe In, and Closing Night Gala, the World Premiere of Not Another Happy Ending. Not forgetting, of course, Disney•Pixar's return to the Festival with a Family Gala of the upcoming Monsters University.

The Filmhouse façade also looks the part, with the EIFF designs adorning the entrance.

With only 3 weeks until Opening Night, brochures are flying off the shelves and everyone’s gearing up for the ticket release (10am on Monday 3 June for general release, or 10am Thursday 30 May for you lucky Filmhouse Members).

If you're not a Filmhouse Member yet, don't forget that you can sign up anytime, and details are available over here.

The Festival team will be blogging throughout EIFF, 19 - 30 June. Keep an eye on the News page for all of the latest news direct from us.

You can also follow us on Facebook and Twitter (@edfilmfest) – and join in the conversation using the official hashtag #edfilmfest.
